The day before classes officially begin, incoming first-year students in the Honors program will gather for Honors Welcome on Tuesday, September 8th.
What to Expect at Honors Welcome:
Here’s a quick breakdown of what you will be doing:
- Come to campus to connect with your Welcome Leaders and fellow first-year Honors students
- Meet Honors professors and experience a sneak peek inside an Honors classroom
- Hear from Honors student leaders and learn more ways to get involved on campus!
The Affinity Luncheon
Opting in to the Affinity Advocate group will allow you to connect with Honors students of similar backgrounds, cultures, or experiences with mentors and safe spaces. These groups include first-generation, APIDA, Black, Latinx, SWANA, and LGBTIA+ students.
Those who opt in to the Affinity Advocate group will stay later to participate in the Affinity Lunch, from 1-2:30 pm. At the lunch, you will be able to:
- Meet your Honors Affinity Advocate
- Connect with fellow Honors first-years who share or are allies to your affinity
- Learn about DePaul resources designed to serve your unique needs and experiences
