Honors Advising

Planning your schedules for each quarter can feel like an intimidating and stressful task, but you do not have to do it alone! During the process, you will be supported by both a Major Advisor AND Honors Advisor! Scheduling regular advising sessions will help you stay on track and achieve your goals during your time at DePaul.

While your Major Advisor will be there to support you through completing your core degree, your Honors advisors can answer scheduling questions, guide you through your Honors and major requirements, help you plan for your long-term goals, and so much more!

What can an Honors Advisor do for you?

Your Honors Advisor is a great resource on campus to help you with scheduling questions throughout your time at DePaul. They can assist you with:

  • Understanding Honors requirements, study abroad, approved electives, languages, and more
  • Preparing for registration
  • Navigating University resources

Please note that Honors advising complements, but does not replace, the advising you receive from your major advisor. If you have not yet declared a major, you may meet with an advisor from the Office for Academic Advising Support.

When to See Your Advisor

It is recommended that you check in with your Honors advisor periodically to ensure that you stay on track to graduate. General course selection advice includes:

  • Most first-year students take just one Honors course a quarter
  • You may take up to two Honors courses in one quarter, but you cannot go beyond two Honors courses
  • Every quarter will represent a balance between Honors courses, open electives, and major requirements

How to Make an Appointment with Your Honors Advisor

Ready to meet with an advisor? Follow these steps to book a session:

  1. Go to CampusConnect and sign in with your DePaul credentials
  2. On the Student Homepage, select the Student Resources tab
