Consider a submission to the Honors Student Research Conference, an annual celebration of the research performed by the students of the University Honors Program. Applications are due April 25!
Please consider applying to present one of your best research papers at the Honors Student Conference. Your submission may come from any HON course completed during one of the following quarters:
- Spring 2024, Autumn 2024, or Winter 2025
Students whose submissions are accepted will display their work as a poster presentation:
- Honors staff will help you plan your poster and prepare for the conference presentation.
- Thesis students will present their thesis projects at the conference and should not submit a conference application.
BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATION:
- Learn to present academic work in a formal setting
- Gain important exposition skills that will be valuable for graduate school or work in your future profession
- Receive feedback from faculty and scholars in your field
- Exchange ideas with other undergraduate students
- Enhance your resume with authentic and meaningful experience
- Earn “Honors Scholarship,” one of the three steps toward achieving “Honors Distinction.”
Paper lengths will vary, but 7-15 pages would be a standard expectation for your submission. You should select a paper you are proud of and that you wish to share with others in the university community. Students may submit one paper completed in an Honors course for conference consideration.
HOW TO APPLY:
- The final submission deadline is APRIL 25.
- Please follow the instructions on the below application to submit your best Honors paper for Honors Conference consideration.
- Submissions may come from an HON course completed in Spring 2024, Fall 2024, or Winter 2025.
- Before submitting your application, be sure you are available to attend the conference in its entirety.
