October Blog Competition!

Our October Blog Competition is here! This month, we will be paying homage to our Fall Book Club read, Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray. (If you are interested in joining the book club, learn more here!)

In The Picture of Dorian Gray, Wilde explores themes of both morality and immortality, using a hauntingly decaying and decrepit self-portrait to symbolize the sins of the main character, Dorian Gray. Using this as our inspiration, we ask you to create your own self-portrait! You can choose to be as realistic or symbolic as you like; whether you wish to represent yourself as you physically or spiritually is up to you! Please use whatever medium you feel called; be it photography, drawing, written word, painting, digital, or other!

All student submissions will be entered into a raffle, for a chance to win an Edgar Allen Poe coloring book and a pack of colored pencils! All submitters earn 1 Honors Point.

Submissions will be due on November 1 by 11:59 p.m. Email your submissions to honorsprogram@depaul.edu.
