The senior thesis is an option available to every Honors student during their final year in the Program. It’s a big commitment that spans two quarters–three when counting the presentation at the Honors Student Conference–but it’s a great opportunity to hone your research and writing skills, especially for students interested in pursuing graduate school after graduation. Students who present at our end-of-year conference also earn Honors Scholarship, so a thesis may also be a smart decision for students hoping to graduate with Honors Distinction. For more information about the expectations of a thesis, visit our page covering the topic.
For current seniors and underclassmen considering a thesis, Nancy Grossman will be holding an info session Thursday, October 12th from 6-7 on Zoom. The session is open to all Honors students of all years. Nancy will be discussing the different types of thesis projects the program supports, how to craft a thesis proposal, how to approach and work with faculty, and how to design a poster. Bring your questions! Students who attend will earn one Honors Point.
