Create-Your-Own Leadership!

The Honors Program is introducing a new route to earn Honors Leadership, a necessary milestone of Honors Distinction!

As you know, Honors Distinction is comprised of three milestones: Partnership, Leadership, and Scholarship. Students who achieve all three milestones not only take advantage of all the incredible opportunities that Honors has to offer, but grow in their professional capabilities.

Now, the Honors Program has introduced a new route to Leadership. In addition to fulfilling any of the already-existing leadership roles, Honors students can now create their own Leadership opportunities!

This initiative allows Honors students to design, organize, and execute a social, service, academic or professional development event that meaningfully contributes to the Honors community. Once you have an idea for an event, read the criteria and guidelines so you know what is expected of you, submit an official proposal for approval, and then work to plan and carry out the event from start to finish.

Step 1: Read the Create Your Own Leadership Opportunity Criteria Proposal Guidelines. It is important to understand the criteria that must be met in order to achieve this milestone.

Step 2: Once you familiarize yourself with the above guidelines and are sure that your idea fits the criteria, submit a proposal form. Your proposal must be approved before you can move forward with planning your event and earning Honors Leadership.

Once your proposal is approved, you will work with a staff member in the Honors Program to plan and implement your event. Leadership will be awarded upon successful completion of the event.
