Identities Abroad:  Mexico City LGBTQ+ Cinema Study Abroad

Ever wanted to explore identity, culture, and film where it actually happens?

Join us for a quick, engaging info session about Identities Abroad: Mexico City LGBTQ+ Representation in Cinema, a unique study abroad experience that blends a Spring 2026 course with a 10-day immersive trip to Mexico City from June 21–30, 2026.

This program looks at gender, sexuality, and identity through Mexican cinema, art, activism, and everyday life, all in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

At the info session, you’ll learn how the Spring 2026 course connects directly to the travel experience, how academic credit works through LSP 200 or the Experiential Learning Domain, and what the application process and timeline look like. We’ll also share tips for submitting a strong application and leave plenty of time for questions.

During the program, you’ll explore LGBTQ+ history and culture in Zona Rosa, visit Museo del Chopo, and examine film and social change at the Cineteca Nacional. You’ll experience iconic sites like the Frida Kahlo Museum, Chapultepec Castle, and Teotihuacan, and take part in Mexico City Pride on June 28, celebrating alongside the local community.

If you’re interested in film, identity, social justice, or global experiences that stay with you long after you return home, this program offers a powerful way to learn, connect, and see the world differently.
