The DePaul University Honors Program is proud to be hosting the 2026 Honors Council of the Illinois Region (HCIR) Spring Symposium!
The annual Spring Symposium is the HCIR’s main event to celebrate the excellence of Honors undergraduate research. Similar to DePaul’s own Honors Research Conference, the Symposium is an opportunity for some of the brightest undergraduate minds in Illinois and the surrounding regions to connect and share original research, scholarship, and ideas with a greater academic community. The Spring Symposium showcases outstanding honors student research and creative activities as well as faculty-student research and creative collaborations.
We are excited to host surrounding Honors Programs to our campus, but we are even more excited to offer you, our own DePaul Honors students, the opportunity to present your Honors classroom research at the Spring Symposium research conference!
DePaul Honors students are encouraged to submit a proposal to present their best research from a recent Honors course at the Spring Symposium. The most common way that students choose to present their research is through a poster presentation, similar to our own Honors Research Conference that happens each Spring. However, you can also submit a proposal to be considered for a 15 minute oral presentation of your research, or even propose a panel presentation to speak with multiple students and even professors about a research topic. Presenting at the HCIR Spring Symposium fulfills the Honors Scholarship milestone for students seeking Honors Distinction.

Proposals to present at the HCIR Spring Symposium are due Friday, February 6 at 11:59pm.
The HCIR Spring Symposium will held on DePaul’s Lincoln Park Campus on Saturday, March 7 from 9:00am03:00pm.
Presenting at the HCIR Spring Symposium fulfills Honors Scholarship, a necessary milestone for Honors Distinction.
