Hi Honors students!
Today, I’m exploring some of the top neighborhoods for DePaul students, focusing on proximity, affordability, and lifestyle. If you’re looking for a place near campus and want to explore your options, this guide is a good place to start!
Lincoln Park
Lincoln Park is the closest neighborhood to DePaul’s main campus, which makes it the most popular choice. It offers a short walk to class as well as lots of transportation options. The area is packed with popular restaurants like Red Light Chicken, Armitage Alehouse, and Homeslice. However, the downside is that the rent there is on the higher end. It has a mix of students and young professionals, making it safe, convenient, and a classic DePaul favorite.
Wrigleyville
Heading north, Wrigleyville is best known for its vibrant nightlife and Wrigley Field. The neighborhood has lots of bars, clubs, and restaurants, which makes it especially lively on game days. However, this can cause extra noise and traffic. Here, you have easy access to CTA lines to get to class and offer multiple living options.
Logan Square
This is perfect for students with a creative or artistic side. This area is filled with trendy coffee shops and vintage stores. Plus, rent has historically been more affordable here, although prices have been rising in recent years as the neighborhood becomes popular. The commute to campus is also longer, but the Blue line and multiple bus routes make it manageable.
No matter your budget or your lifestyle, there is a neighborhood in Chicago that fits you. The key is balancing proximity, affordability, and lifestyle. I hope this guide helps you find your new home!
