This is a collection of a few of the drawings I’ve made over the first two weeks for an annual, month-long, daily art challenge that I’m currently hosting over on my Instagram, @heyitsadventurefornow, called Artober 2024. There are many different artists who will release Artober challenges in the social media art community and other challenges alike; this is specifically the version I’ve made and prompts that I curated. The theme for my Artober this year, which I subtitled “Facing Fears,” explores different phobias over the 31 days of October, and it just so happens to line up with the October Creative Prompt.
The pieces sampled below were interpreting the prompts for: Acrophobia (fear of heights), Arachnophobia (fear of spiders & arachnids), Athazagoraphobia (fear of being forgotten or forgetting something or someone), Automatonophobia (fear of human-like inanimate objects and figures), Cherophobia (fear of happiness & experiences that invoke positive emotions), Chronophobia (fear of time & time moving forward), Claustrophobia (fear of small, tight, enclosed, & inescapable spaces), and Coulrophobia (fear of clowns).
