Vanessa Cruz, a 2009 Honors Program graduate and McNair Scholar will be in town to receive the Midwest Latina/o Caucus Early Career Award, and she is excited to sit down and chat about life, graduation, the Honors Program, and scholarship. Vanessa, a first generation college student, graduated from DePaul with a Political Science and Economics double major, along with a Spanish minor. She went on to earn a PhD from U of Michigan and is now an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Indiana University.
