Abstract: This research paper begins to address the interconnectivity between low socioeconomic status and lack of nutrition. By advancing nutrition in America and decreasing food insecurity, there will be a positive impact across the spectrum of social issues. The three main areas regarding lack of nutrition and low income analyzed in this paper are food insecurity, broader health, and government programs. It is important to note however, that this topic spans throughout multiple other social realms. Georgia’s research spanned multiple peer reviewed sources, and government websites, still, it is important to note that to fully explore such a complex topic, more research is needed.
