Prepare to present your research at the 2026 HCIR Spring Symposium.
Congratulations to all those who have been selected to present at the 2026 Honors Council of the Illinois Region Spring Symposium! We ask that all presenters read and familiarize themselves with the information below. Alternatively, all pertinent presentation information has also been provided in your acceptance email.
All presenters must register for the Symposium.
Before registering, please check with your honors program or college to see if your school will be handling the registration and payment on your behalf. The student registration fee is $20, which covers a light breakfast and lunch.
The symposium will take place in Arts and Letters Hall on DePaul University’s Lincoln Park Campus. The address is 2315 N. Kenmore Ave., Chicago, IL 60614. Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m., and opening remarks will begin at 9:15 a.m. The symposium will run until 2:30 p.m.

Date and time — Saturday, March 7, 2026, 9:00 a.m-2:30 p.m.
Student registration fee — $20
Faculty registration fee –$50
Registration deadline — Sunday, March 1, 2026
Students selected to present their research in poster format will be required to bring a research poster that adheres to the guidelines below.
Poster Guidelines:
- Dimensions: Maximum of 48″ wide × 36″ tall.
- Format: Please have your poster printed on paper.
- Setup: We will provide clips to attach your poster to a board on an easel.
Please refer to your acceptance email for information regarding the time of your presentation.
Students selected to present their research papers on a panel should keep the guidelines below in mind when preparing their presentations.
Presentation Guidelines:
- Timing: Presentations should be 12–15 minutes. (If you are reading your paper, this is typically about 6–7 pages, double-spaced, with 12-point font.)
- Slides: If you are presenting a slideshow, please email your presentation slides to honorsprogram@depaul.edu no later than March 4. We will pre-load all presentations onto the room computers to ensure a smooth transition between speakers.
Please refer to your acceptance email for information regarding the time of your presentation. Room assignments will be posted on the symposium website 24 hours in advance and will also be included in the program you receive at check-in.
