Honors Student Government

Honors Student Government is a forum to plan social, cultural, and service activities; promote unity among Honors students, and foster a community of scholars within the Honors Program. All Honors students are encouraged to attend Honors Student Government meetings. We hope to see you at an HSG meeting or event soon! Hania Abbasi

Social Committee Co-Chair

Hania Abbasi (she/her) is one of your social committee co-chairs this year! Hania is a sophomore studying Health Sciences. She is looking forward to collaborating with her colleagues and organizing more enjoyable events in the future. 


Solmaria Gaytan

Social Committee Co-Chair

Solmaria Gaytan (she/her) will also be a social committee co-chair on this year’s e-board. She is a sophomore majoring in Marketing. She is excited to plan the Honors Ball and more events this year.


Reda Shadman

Social Committee Co-Chair

Reda Shadman (she/her) will be a social committee co-chair on this year’s e-board. Reda is a sophomore majoring in Health Sciences. She looks forward to organizing social events to nurture and value the diversity of the Honors community.


Hanna Tariq

Service Committee Co-Chair

Hanna Tariq (she/her) will be one of our service committee co-chairs on this year’s e-board. Hanna is a junior majoring in Health Sciences. She hopes to plan more service events that help unite the DePaul Honors community now more than ever, and make service fun for students to regularly be involved in.


Belle Ransburgh

Service Committee Co-Chair

Belle Ransburgh (she/her) will also be joining the HSG e-board as a service committee co-chair. Belle is a junior majoring in International Studies and Political Science with a minor in Irish Studies. She hopes to be a diligent presence in accomplishing supportive and inclusive voluntary initiatives this year.


Najwa Mizyed

Service Committee Co-Chair

Najwa Mizyed (she/her) will be serving as one of our service co-chair representatives this year. Najwa is a sophomore studying Political Science with a minor in Accounting on a pre-law track. She is excited to learn new leadership skills in this role.


Ella Swenson,

Service Committee Co-Chair

Ella Swenson (any pronouns) will also be one of our service committee co-chairs. Ella is a junior majoring in Anthropology with a minor in Japanese Languages. They hope to bring more Vincentian service opportunities to fellow Honors students!


Ilany Chavez

Driehaus College of Business Delegate

Ilany Chavez (she/her) will be serving as one of the Business school delegates this year. She is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration. She is excited to be a resource for students with questions and to help them feel supported throughout their academic and social experiences.


Aiko Tai

Driehaus College of Business Delegate

Aiko Tai (she/her) will be serving as one of the delegates for the Driehaus College of Business this year. She is a sophomore with double majors in Finance and Accounting and a minor in Climate Science and Policy. Aiko is excited to plan fun events that will bring the community of business students in the Honors Program closer together.


Brigida Hobson

Jarvis College of Computing & Digital Media Delegate

Brigida Hobson (she/her) will be serving as one of the delegates for CDM this year. She is a sophomore majoring in Film and Television with a concentration in Showrunning. She hopes that all the film and TV students get to know each other better this year.


Grace Slagle

Jarvis College of Computing & Digital Media Delegate

Grace Slagle (she/her) will be serving as one of the delegates for CDM this year. She is a junior majoring in Film and Television with a concentration in Directing and a minor in Documentary Production. She is excited to hear directly from CDM students about what they need and looks forward to collaborating with the rest of HSG.


Ella Grace

School of Music Delegate

Ella Grace (she/her) will be serving as the School of Music delegate this year. She is a senior majoring in Jazz Studies with a minor in Communication and Media. She is excited to represent Honors School of Music students in the Honors Student Government.


Jessica Fischli

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Delegate

Jessica Fischli (she/her) will be serving as one of the LAS delegates this year. She is a sophomore majoring in History with minors in Museum Studies and German. She is excited to meet with LAS students and voice students’ concerns or ideas about the curriculum, course options, and more!


Alexa Maria Huerta

HSG Vice President & College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Delegate

Alexa Maria Huerta (she/her) will be a delegate for LAS this year. Alexa is a senior majoring in Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies with a minor in Marketing. She hopes to help students access more career opportunities.


Omar Ocampo

College of Science and Health Delegate

Omar Ocampo (any pronouns) will be serving as one of the CSH delegates this year. They are a junior majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. Omar will focus on identifying areas of growth so that the University Honors Program can support the College of Science and Health students as much as possible.


Rida Fatima

HSG President & College of Science and Health Delegate

Rida hopes to create more healthcare or research experience related opportunities. She has noticed that obtaining opportunities like research, shadowing, and other internships is very difficult, especially because many students come into college with minimal experience in the medical/research field.


Alex Dutton

LLC Representative

Alex Dutton is a Marketing major. He looks forward to hosting a variety of events and connecting students who are taking the same classes. He thinks the more opportunities they have to socialize as an LLC, the greater sense of community people will have, and the better everyone will be able to support each other.


Ariel Yaniv

LLC Representative

Ariel is a Management Information Systems major. Ariel loves the programs offered here at DePaul and he is so thankful to be able to help represent his community here in the honors program. He is committed to creating a strong, connected, academic, but still fun and engaging environment for the LLC.


Kristyn Leroy

LLC Representative

Kristyn Leroy is a Political Science major. She would love to organize events that give the honors program a sense of community and belonging. She looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to the Honors LLC, helping to create a space where everyone feels valued and heard.


Jahiem Brown

LLC Representative

Jahiem Brown is a Film and Television major. His main goal as an LLC rep is to build a community by holding events such as study sessions, game nights, and movie nights to build upon student friendships.
