Join the Honors Program for an outing to the Steppenwolf Theatre to see Windfall with a pre-show discussion with Professor Ali-Reza Mirsajadi.
From 5:30-6:30PM, students will meet in Arts and Letters ROOM for the pre-show discussion. Tickets will be provided during this time. Then, students will head over to the Steppenwolf Theatre as a group for a 7:30 PM performance.
Tickets to the performance are limited. Please RSVP for the performance only if you are able to attend, and cancel your ticket or contact Melanie Doweiko at mdoweiko@depaul.edu to update your RSVP if your plans change so that we may offer your ticket to another student. Students who do not show without informing us in advance may become ineligible to attend future Honors Program events.
About Windfall:
This is a story about money. Don’t let them fool you otherwise. When a father loses his child in a clash with the police, he is visited by three strangers who advise him to take the city’s cash settlement, relocate and forget his grief–or else remain, haunted by memories of the world his child fought so hard to protect. This lyrical world premiere from Academy Award-winning ensemble member Tarell Alvin McCraney is a vital and timely look at the spirit of activism set against the most indifferent system of them all: the almighty dollar.
