Submit a proposal to present at the 2026 HCIR Spring Symposium.
Join DePaul University and the Honors Council of the Illinois Region in our celebration of Honors undergraduate student research by presenting at the 2026 HCIR Spring Symposium. Participants can showcase independent or collaborative research through academic poster sessions, present findings via oral presentations, or organize a group panel to discuss ideas and insights together.
Before beginning the submission process, please read all relevant policies and submission requirements below. Then, submit your proposal using the HCIR Spring Symposium online proposal submission form.
The submission form will close on February 6 at 11:59pm.

The Spring Symposium is the Honors Council of the Illinois Region’s main annual event to showcase outstanding honors student research and creative activities as well as faculty-student research and creative collaborations. This year’s conference will take place fully in person at DePaul University’s Lincoln Park campus in Chicago on Saturday, March 7th from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm.
HCIR Spring Symposium proposals must include at least one author/presenter who is an honors student from an HCIR member institution.
To complete the form, you will need the following information:
- Title of the presentation
- Names of presenter/panelists/author/co-authors
- Optional: Enter email addresses for co-authors and participants
- Type of presentation:
- Poster presentation
- Oral paper presentation (15 minutes)
- Oral panel session (multiple presenters, 45 minutes total)
- A proposal abstract (250 words max)
- If applicable, identify any grants (Marget Messer, school grant, other funding source, etc.) that supported the research
- Name of faculty sponsor(s) (project director or the professor for whom the paper was originally written)
Proposal submission forms are due on February 6 at 11:59pm.
